Learning to work in water construction sector
Indonesia is an archipelago with more than 17,000 islands. The water construction sector is of huge importance. The risks of flooding in low areas makes protection by levees, dams, walls, and breakwaters necessary. Increasing transport of goods by water and growth of fishery require more and larger and better accessible harbors, rivers and canals.
In a project sponsored by the Dutch government, VAPRO together with partners setup a vocational training program for water construction workers, including development of learning materials. These learning materials are available (partly or as a whole) for vocational schools and academies related to the water construction sector (civil, construction, mechanical, electrical, etc.).
